Main Upgrades from the Previous Year
This lineup comes with a new array of LED lighting. The front fascia has also been redesigned for improved aerodynamics, with front bumpers and low-edge air ducts. The EyeSight driver’s assist system comes with new safety features; most of them are now standard.
Interior and Exterior Layouts
The new Subaru Ascent looks giant on the outside, and it’s also very spacious inside. There’s tri-zone air conditioning available for everyone, with an air filtration system and a humidity sensor. The second and third rows of seats have cup holders available on the armrests. The flagship model comes with ambient lighting, although there’s welcome lighting in every model.
There are five colours available for this lineup; the entry-level trim, the 2023 Subaru Ascent Convenience, has only three. All vehicles have symmetrical AWD, but there’s a different badging for each trim. The body is made of dual-galvanized steel and received an anti-corrosion treatment. This lineup also comes with an array of LED lights, like the C-shaped daytime running lights, and steering-responsive headlights.
Technology, Infotainment and Connectivity
All trims come with an 11.6-inch touchscreen display, through which the infotainment system is controlled. The 2023 Subaru Ascent Limited and upper trims have the same touchscreen display equipped with GPS navigation, and also SiriusXM Satellite Radio with Travel Link and Traffic.
The 2023 Subaru Ascent Onyx and below trims have a simplified version of this system without the Traffic option. All models are compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, but only the Convenience doesn’t come with Subaru Starlink Connected Services.
Safety Features and Driver’s Assistants
Most safety features in the new Subaru are standard for the whole lineup. All models come with airbags for the front seats and also for the third row of seats. Other standard features include a rearview camera and automatic door locks.
The EyeSight driver’s assist suite is also available for all five trims. Two features are exclusive to the 2023 Subaru Ascent Premier: a front camera with guidelines and a 360-degree camera. Features like automatic emergency steering, lane keep and lane centring assists, pre-collision braking, and pre-collision throttle management are available for all trims.
