Notable Changes from the Previous Year
Subaru made a few changes to the 2025 Outback to improve performance and comfort. The Limited trim has been upgraded with a heated steering wheel, power sunroof, and an 11.6-inch display. The optional XT package with the high-end engine performance has also been extended to the Limited trim.
Infotainment and Technology
The standard infotainment system comprises dual 7-inch high-resolution displays on the dashboard. It supports Bluetooth, audio streaming, Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM capabilities. The Touring, Onyx, and Wilderness trims have larger 11.6-inch displays, while the premium system adds navigation.
Exterior Design
A rugged front grille, LED headlights, and fog lights introduce the 2025 Outback's bold and purposeful exterior. The vehicle has an improved aerodynamic design to enhance stability and efficiency. Its standard wheels are 17-inch aluminum alloys with an option for larger 18-inch wheels in different finishes.
Interior Comfort and Cargo
The quiet cabin offers uncommonly high levels of comfort and enough space for passengers and their gear. The standard 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat with a 2-way lumbar ensures increased support. The cargo area can hold 920 litres with all seats up and 2,144 litres when the rear seats are folded.
Performance Features
A direct-injection 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with a Lineartronic Continuous Variable Transmission is standard on the base model. It provides 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque with a fuel efficiency of 9.2 L/100 km in the city and 7.3 L/100 km on highways. Higher trims have a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine, delivering 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Apart from the strong frame and Subaru Symmetrical Full-Time AWD, the 2025 Outback also includes EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. It features rear/side vehicle detection, distraction mitigation, and emergency automatic steering. Other features include high beam assist, reverse automatic braking, and a rearview camera.
